A Spicy Twist on a Traditional Old Fashioned

Trend alert!  Craft Cocktails are in!  Elevate your bar game with this Pomegranate Chile Old Fashioned.  No need to be intimidated – with a few quick steps you can spice up this timeless classic, literally!

Here are the tools you need and step by step instructions to channel your inner mixologist!

Tools:

Mixing Glass

Jigger

Hawthorne Strainer

Mixing Spoon

Schott Zwiesel Tritan Paris on the Rocks Glass

Ingredients:

1 ½ oz Chile Infused Bourbon

{Whoa! What’s that?! Have no fear! Combine ½ a dehydrated chipotle pepper (seeds removed) with 3 cups of your Bourbon of choice and let them mingle for a while. The longer the mingle the more infused the Bourbon will be!}

½ oz Orange Simple Syrup

{Whoa!  What’s THAT?! Easy Peezy! Combine 4 cups of water, 4 cups of sugar and the zest of one orange and voila!}

1 ½ oz REAL Pomegranate Juice

2 Dashes of Bitters

Mix it up Mixologist!

  1. Combine Chile Infused Bourbon, Orange Simple Syrup, Pomegranate Juice and Bitters over ice.

2. Stir and strain over ice filled rocks glass

3. Char an orange peel, rim the glass, drop in and stir {CHAR an orange peel!?!? We are not crazy!  Trust us!  Using a lighter to char an orange peel releases its oils in the most delicious way! You don’t have to char it to a crisp!  Just warm the peel up and give it a good twist!}
