Epicurience Virginia 2016 was a great success! Our sister company, Fortessa Tableware Solutions, became a founding sponsor of this event four years ago and we at Sterling Restaurant Supply were happy to sponsor the Chefs Demonstration Tent again this year! What great Chefs we had!
Up first was Chef Chris Edwards! Chef Edwards is an extremely talented Chef that is committed to sourcing products responsibly and carefully. Local loyalties, regional inspiration and international experience have all shaped his vision of the culinary arts. Chef worked up a DELICIOUS Crispy Sesame Cauliflower! Second in the line-up was Chef Justin Garrison from West End Wine Bar in Purcellville Virginia. Chef Justin was at ease on stage with his 15 years of culinary experience. His cooking style is a locally sourced culinary roadmap, putting a colorful twist on traditional techniques. Chef Justin demonstrated an incredible recipe for Homemade Fried Mozzarella (you would be surprised how easy it is!) and a ten minute Garlic Confit Tomato Puree! See his full recipe in our Blog Post:
Third to take the stage was Chef Jim Drost of Match Box in One Loudoun! His travels to Germany, France, Switzerland, Australia and Tuscany as well as a love for international food inspires his culinary style. A Three Meat Blend Meatball with Homemade Ricotta Cheese was on the menu for Chef Drost’s demo. YUM! See his full recipe in our Blog Post:
Twenty-two year restaurant veteran Chef Jason Lage was up next! His simple approach to cooking and love for local ingredients really showed during his demonstration for his Foraged Mushroom Risotto! The mushrooms for this dish were foraged locally just the day before the event and oh man were they tasty!
Last but not least was Chef Brian Voltaggio! As the owner of six different restaurants and first chef to compete on both Top Chef and Top Chef Masters it was no surprise that he wowed the crowd with a homemade pasta and meatball demonstration!
